A tragic incident occurred in Kwara State, Nigeria, where gunmen suspected to be kidnappers killed Abdullahi Kpotun, the Kwara North ward chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), and his son. The incident happened on Tuesday, June 24, in Lile Village in the Patigi Local Government Area of the state.
The publicity secretary for the PDP in Kwara, Shola Adewara, confirmed the incident, stating that Kpotun and his son were killed during a kidnapping attempt. Adewara said, “Yes, Alhaji Kpotun was killed by suspected gunmen. We are in a mourning mood”
The Kwara Central Strategy team (KCST) also announced the death of Kpotun and his son, describing them as victims of ruthless bandits. In a statement signed by its president, Olayinka Oladimeji, KCST mourned the tragic killing and prayed for the souls of the fallen comrades.
The statement read, “With heavy hearts, the Kwara Central Strategy Team (KCST) mourns the tragic killing of Kwara North PDP Ward Chairman in Patigi and his son by ruthless bandits.” The group expressed solidarity with the family and community, praying for their safety and divine guidance.
