Iran has launched six missiles at United States military bases in Qatar, triggering widespread concern and raising questions about the potential consequences of this bold move. The attack was first reported by Axios and later confirmed by Reuters, citing an Israeli official.
Khaled Hassan, an Egyptian-British national security and foreign policy researcher, has condemned Iran's actions, calling them a "reckless act of self-destruction." Hassan's comments reflect the growing fear that the conflict could spiral out of control and have devastating consequences.
The missile strike is seen as a direct response to earlier American airstrikes on Iranian nuclear sites at Fordow, Natanz, and Esfahan. Iran had warned that the US strikes would not go unanswered, and the country's judiciary chief, Gholam-Hossein Mohseni-Ejei, accused President Trump of deceiving the world.
The region is on edge, with observers like Hassan believing that Iran's aggressive posture may only lead to further devastation. Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister Majid Takht-Ravanchi has declared that their nuclear program will continue undeterred, despite US and Israeli strikes.
