Shocking Airport Incident as Emotions Erupt Over High-Profile Murder Case

A tense scene unfolded at Devi Ahilya Bai Holkar Airport in Indore when a man, overcome with anger, slapped one of the accused in the Raja Raghuvanshi murder case while police were escorting the suspects. The incident, which occurred as officers were leading the accused inside the airport gate, has since gone viral, drawing widespread attention online.

Bystander Confronts Accused in Public Outburst

The confrontation happened while security forces and police gathered at the airport entrance. In a sudden outburst, a man identified as Sushil Lakwani approached and struck one of the suspects, businessman Raja. Speaking to reporters shortly after, Lakwani openly admitted his actions stemmed from his outrage over the brutal killing.

"I hit him because I am angry that a resident of Indore was killed," Lakwani said. "They should be hanged till death. The woman killed the man with full planning."

Details of the Raja Raghuvanshi Murder Case

The shocking case traces back to May 2024, when Raja Raghuvanshi and his wife Sonam traveled to Meghalaya for their honeymoon after marrying on May 11. They arrived at Mawlakhiat village on May 22, riding a rented scooter.

Two days later, on May 24, the scooter was found abandoned near a cafe along the Shillong-Sohra road, sparking a search effort. The investigation took a grim turn when Raja’s body was discovered in a gorge near Weisawdong Falls on June 2. Sonam, however, remained missing for days after the body was recovered.

On June 9, Sonam, 24, surrendered to police in Ghazipur, Uttar Pradesh. Authorities have since arrested a total of five individuals in connection with the murder, including Sonam’s lover, Raj Kushwaha.

Police Reveal Murder Plot

According to Meghalaya Director General of Police I Nongrang, Raja Raghuvanshi was allegedly murdered by men hired by his wife Sonam. The revelation has fueled public outrage as many call for severe punishment for those involved.
