A devastating family dispute in Alabama turned deadly on Sunday, June 8, resulting in the deaths of a mother and her son. According to the Mobile Police Department, the incident occurred at an address on the 1200 block of Ross Street, where officers discovered two victims deceased inside the home.
Authorities investigated the incident and determined that Traci McDuffie, 52, was fatally shot by her 25-year-old son, Brandon McDuffie. When Traci's other son discovered what had happened, Brandon shot at him, prompting the son to defend himself by shooting and killing Brandon.
The victims have been identified as Traci McDuffie and her son Brandon McDuffie. The second son, who shot and killed Brandon in self-defense, has been identified as 32-year-old Brent McDuffie, the eldest child, according to a post on Facebook by the First Baptist Church of Baltimore Street, Inc.
The Mobile Police Department has stated that the death of Brandon McDuffie will be presented to a grand jury. The incident highlights the tragic consequences of family disputes and the need for effective conflict resolution mechanisms.
