The Air Component of Operation HADIN KAI has successfully foiled attacks on its personnel in Buratai and Mallam Fatori, Borno State. The attacks, which occurred on June 5, 2025, were thwarted by the swift response of troops and close air support from the Air Component.
According to Captain Reuben Kovanggiya, Acting Deputy Director Army Public Relations, the troops neutralized scores of terrorists and recovered a large cache of assorted arms and ammunition. The terrorists had attempted to deceitfully infiltrate troops' locations from all approaches, but were met with heavy gunfire and superior firepower.
The troops recovered a significant amount of arms and ammunition, including AK-47 rifles, General Purpose Machine Guns, Rocket Propelled Guns, and other terrorists' equipment. This recovery is a significant blow to the terrorists' capabilities and will likely disrupt their operations in the region.
The successful foiling of these attacks and neutralization of bandits is a testament to the bravery and effectiveness of the troops. As the region continues to face threats from terrorists, the military's efforts to protect citizens and maintain peace are crucial.
