A disturbing incident has unfolded in Borno State, Nigeria, where Boko Haram/ISWAP terrorists have abducted a Catholic priest, Rev. Fr. Daniel Afina, and nine others along Gwoza-Limankara Road. The attack occurred when the priest, who serves as the project coordinator of a Christian non-governmental organization, was returning from Mubi with two staff members.
According to eyewitnesses, the terrorists ambushed the vehicle, killing one of the staff members on the spot. Rev. Afina and nine others were forcibly taken, while some managed to escape by fleeing the scene. The family of the priest has confirmed the abduction, having spoken with Rev. Afina briefly, but there have been no further updates since.
The family also revealed that the gunmen have not asked for ransom at the moment, leaving the priest's fate uncertain. A senior official of the Christian Association of Nigeria in Borno State has confirmed the kidnapping and murder, highlighting the ongoing security challenges in the region.
