Jax Gratton, a 34-year-old hairstylist who had been missing in Denver since April, has been found dead. Her mother, Cherilynne Gratton-Camis, confirmed the devastating news in a heartbreaking Facebook post, expressing her deep gratitude to the public for their support.
Jax was last seen on April 15 around 10 p.m. when she left her Denver apartment, telling her roommate she'd be out for about three hours. She never returned. Lakewood Police have confirmed that a body was discovered on Friday, though further details have not been released. Jax's mother had previously voiced concern about her daughter's safety, fearing foul play due to Jax's history of abusive relationships.
Cherilynne Gratton-Camis honored Jax's identity as a trans woman, sharing how her daughter had helped her understand the LGBTQIA+ community more deeply. "It's not just about Jax — it's about everyone in the LGBTQIA+ community who faces the world with courage, simply wanting to live, love, and exist safely. That should never be a fight — and yet, it still is." The community comes together to mourn the loss of a vibrant life, unapologetically lived.
