Acid Attack in Ghana: Ex-Girlfriend Arrested for Pouring Acid on Boyfriend

The Greater Accra Regional Police Command has confirmed the arrest of 30-year-old Mavis Nkrumah for allegedly pouring acid on her ex-boyfriend, Gideon Frimpong, during a confrontation over their breakup. The incident occurred when the former couple met to resolve ongoing issues related to the end of their relationship, which escalated into a heated argument.

During the argument, Ms. Nkrumah is said to have attacked Mr. Frimpong, a 29-year-old taxi driver, with the corrosive substance, causing severe injuries. Mr. Frimpong was rushed to a medical facility, where he is currently receiving treatment. According to medical staff, he is in stable condition but will require ongoing care due to the extent of the burns.
