Georgina Odunsi, the sister of 23-year-old Tamilore Odunsi, made an emotional appearance at Texas Woman’s University’s graduation ceremony, representing her late sister, who tragically passed away just days before her commencement. Tamilore, a nursing student, was found dead in her Texas apartment with multiple stab wounds.
Tamilore had been eagerly preparing for her graduation, sharing her excitement on social media just before the heartbreaking incident occurred. Her sister, Georgina, honored Tamilore’s memory by collecting her nursing pin and diploma on her behalf. In a heartfelt Instagram post, Georgina wrote, “So honored to collect my sister’s nursing pin on her behalf. We did it @tamidollars, my forever nurse.”
Georgina also shared a photo of the family with Tamilore’s certificate, captioning it, “We love you Tami.” The certificate confirmed Tamilore’s Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Texas Woman’s University.
Tamilore's body was discovered in her Houston apartment, where she had been stabbed to death. A concerned friend of her father alerted authorities when they hadn’t heard from her. Upon arriving at her apartment, police found blood near the door and discovered Tamilore’s body in the kitchen. Her flatmate, who had also suffered stab wounds, was found in critical condition but survived.
Social media users expressed deep sorrow and sympathy, with many commenting on the tragedy of Tamilore's untimely death and the immense pain her family must have felt. One commenter noted, "When you've seen all the time and effort she put into her craft, it really breaks you... one could only imagine how the family is feeling."
