A devastating attack by armed bandits has left six people dead and 127 others kidnapped in Kebbi State, Nigeria. The incident occurred on May 27, 2025, in the Danmuntari and Ali villages of Danko/Wasagu Local Government Area, near the border with Zamfara State.
According to security expert Zagazola Makama, the gunmen invaded the two villages around 9 a.m., killing six people, including a woman who had given birth just two weeks prior. The victims who lost their lives were identified as Malam Mudaha, Al'ameen Mohammed, Safwan Abubakar, Tanko Mohammed, Ibrahim Garba, and Inno Mudaha.
A joint team of the Nigerian Army, Police Tactical Unit, and local vigilante groups has been deployed to the area to begin search and rescue operations for the kidnapped victims. The security forces are working to restore peace in the area and rescue the abducted villagers.
The attack has left residents in fear and panic, with many afraid to sleep at night. The villages affected are located near the troubled Zamfara border, an area known for frequent bandit activity. Community members are mourning the loss of loved ones and hoping for the safe return of those taken hostage.
