A horrifying case of betrayal and murder has come to light in Delta State, Nigeria, where the police have discovered the body of 38-year-old site engineer, Chigozie Udalor. Udalor was brutally murdered and secretly buried by the four young laborers he had employed to assist him on a construction project.
According to police investigations, the workers, who were from Benue State, conspired against Udalor and launched a vicious attack on him at the site on December 10, 2024. They allegedly struck him multiple times in the head with a hammer, ensuring his death.
The workers then hastily dug a shallow grave on the construction site and buried Udalor's body, hoping to cover their tracks. They abandoned the site and went into hiding.
Udalor's disappearance had sparked a desperate search by his family and friends, but it wasn't until the Delta State Police Command intensified their investigation that the truth began to unravel. Two of the suspects were apprehended and, during interrogation, they confessed to the crime, revealing the location of Udalor's buried body.
On April 2, 2025, police operatives exhumed Udalor's decomposing remains from the construction site. The Delta State Police Public Relations Officer, SP Bright Edafe, confirmed the discovery in a video statement, describing the crime as a "chilling example of man's inhumanity to man."
The police have assured the public that efforts are ongoing to track down the remaining suspects who are still at large. The case has sent shockwaves through the community, highlighting the dangers of trusting strangers and the importance of thorough background checks.
