In a significant breakthrough, three members of a notorious five-man kidnapper gang terrorizing Otukpo Local Government Area of Benue State have been apprehended. The arrests were made possible through the collaborative efforts of the Executive Chairman of Otukpo LGA, Hon Prince Maxwell Ogiri, and local security agencies.
Among those arrested are Abu Umaru and Ashimu, two key members of the kidnapping syndicate. The chairman of the local government, Ogiri, praised the security agencies for their vigilance and commitment to swiftly apprehending those responsible for the criminal activities in the community.
According to Ogiri, the arrested individuals are Ibrahim Salleh, Ashimu, and Abuh Umaru. Efforts are currently underway to track down their remaining accomplices and local collaborators. The Benue State Police PRO, Kate Anene, stated that she had not been briefed on the matter and would reach out to the DPO for more information.
This development marks a significant step forward in addressing the growing concern of kidnapping in the region. The community can breathe a sigh of relief knowing that the perpetrators are being brought to justice.
