Mother of Four Found Dead in California Home, 2-Year-Old Son Survives Four Days Alone

A tragic incident has shaken the community in Stockton, California, where a 36-year-old mother of four was found dead in her home. Rena Martinez was discovered with multiple stab wounds and bruises on March 25, 2025, and her 2-year-old son was found alive but severely malnourished after being alone with her body for four days.

Martinez's mother conducted a welfare check after not hearing from her daughter and found all doors and windows locked. Upon peering through a window, she saw her grandson lying on the floor, too weak to move. Emergency responders forced entry, retrieved the child, and discovered Martinez's body inside.

The Stockton Police Department is investigating the case as a homicide, but no arrests have been made, and authorities have not released information regarding a suspect or motive. Martinez's brother believes she must have known her killer, citing the fact that the doors and windows were locked from the inside.

The family has launched a GoFundMe campaign to support Martinez's four children, urging anyone with information to come forward. The page states, "Our family is so heartbroken, her children are now without her... What we do need help with is her children and all that they'll need."
