A disturbing incident has unfolded in Adamawa State, Nigeria, where a herbalist, Murtala Musa, has been arrested for allegedly killing an 11-year-old boy, Yangapwa David, for ritual purposes. The incident occurred in Kodomun village, Demsa local government area, and has sparked widespread outrage.
According to the victim's mother, Fancy Alifas, her son was taken to the herbalist for treatment but unfortunately died while in his custody. When arrangements were made to convey the body home, the corpse was left in the herbalist's room, and upon her return, she discovered that her son's left eye had been removed. This gruesome discovery led to the arrest of the herbalist by the Adamawa State Police Command.
The police were informed about the incident on April 13, 2025, by the village head of Kodomun and the victim's mother. The state Police Public Relations Officer, SP Suleiman Nguroje, confirmed that the police operatives swiftly visited the scene and arrested the suspect. The commissioner of police, Dankombo Morris, assured the public that the command would leave no stone unturned in ensuring justice is served.
The suspect is currently in custody at the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID), and the police are working to conclude their investigation. This case highlights the need for vigilance and swift action against such heinous crimes.
