A chilling murder has shaken the Lugbe community in Abuja, as suspected assassins brutally killed Khalid Adamu, a member of the Jama'atulzalatilBid'ahWalqamatis Sunnah (JIBWIS) First Aid group. The financial secretary of the aid group was attacked in his home in Zamani village, near the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, in the early hours of Thursday, April 3, 2025.
According to his elder sister, Rabiatu Danjuma, a gang of around 20 assailants broke into Adamu's house, with five of them entering his sitting room where his younger sister was sleeping. The attackers then moved to his bedroom, where they engaged Adamu in a fierce fight, cutting him around the head and other parts of his body.
In a disturbing revelation, one of the attackers told Adamu's younger sister that they had been sponsored to kill him. The motive behind the murder remains unclear, but the incident has sent shockwaves through the community.
Khalid Adamu, a cargo clearance agent at the Abuja airport, is survived by his wife and adopted children from his relatives. The chairman of the Tafseer committee of JIBWIS in FCT, Imam Yunusa Musa Almadani, confirmed that Adamu was buried on Thursday afternoon.
The incident has raised concerns about the safety and security of residents in Abuja, and authorities are urged to investigate the murder and bring the perpetrators to justice.
